I don’t use alfalfa meal on my citrus trees. It’s a pretty balanced NPK fertilzer best-suited for feeding my fig and olive tree.
A fig or olive tree don’t need to be fertilized very often, surely much less often than citrus trees.
When planted in ground you probably need one maybe two applications applied per year. Since my trees are in containers, I can increase that number slightly.
It’s recommended that you don’t fertilize your fig tree more than 4 times a year. As with pretty much every plant, feed your trees the most during the summer growing season when they’ll need nutrients the most.
